Otto Durrschmidt Violin Bow c1950. Officially appraised by Alex W Grant (5 Aug 2011)who writes "It comprises of an octagonal pernambuco stick with silver mounted ebony frog which is decorated with Parisian eyes: the adjuster of ebony fully sheathed in silver. It weighs 64.5 gms" "The 'nose' of the ivory faceplate is broken off and there is a chip of pernambuco wood missing from the nearside facet of the handle of the stick. The bow is generally in very good condition and, bearing the above in mind, it has a value of $2,900"

A fine old french violin bow by L. Morizot frères. The bow was made around 1950 in Mirecourt. The bow is originally stamped L. Morizot on shaft. It sounds very clear and rich and to me it feels easy to play with.

German bow by the Weichold firm, stamped "R. Weichold Dresden". Octagonal pernambuco stick with silver mounted ebony frog which is decorated with pearl eyes; the three piece adjuster of silver / ebony / silver caped with a pearl eye. Condition The near side decorative pearl eye from the frog is missing and there is a slight bend in the stick. The bow is, nevertheless, in excellent condition .
