            <link>http://www.musicale.com.au/item/197</link>
<description>The one piece back is of a very slightly flamed maple. That of the sides appears to be from a very similar, if not the same, cut of wood. The scroll is similar to the ribs.
The belly is of fine and fairly regular grain spruce.
The varnish is of light brown colour, with darker borders on the back and in the seams of the ribs, as well as under the bridge. The length of the back is 362mm. There are two wooden pins both at the top and the bottom of the back.

The violin is in excellent condition. No visible repairs have been carried out on the instrument, and it appears to be original in all parts of intrinsic value.

VALUATION: approx $6000 AUD

            <title>Violin by Chipot-Vuillaume</title>
            <link>http://www.musicale.com.au/item/184</link>
<description>&lt;img src='http://www.musicale.com.au/./pictures/listings/th_medium_184_16.jpg'; align='left'; height='90'&gt;This is a violin by the late 19th century French maker Chipot-Vuillaume. It is in quite good condition; there are no cracks, but there are a few minor scratches on the varnish in a couple of places. The fingerboard has been recently resurfaced and one of the peg holes has been renewed with a bushing (all other peg holes are fine). The front is a fine-grained spruce, and the back, sides and neck are all a well flamed maple. The spirit-based varnish is a deep brown. The instrument has a bright sound and a quick response. It comes with a basic case, but there is no bow included (although I do have a spare bow of modest quality that can be included for an additional cost).

I live in Sydney and urge any prospective buyer to come to me and try the instrument, or arrange for someone to do so. If you cannot arrange to view it then I can provide more pictures and information via email or phone. The violin is marked for pickup only but I am willing send it via courier or registered post. If you wish to buy the instrument but live elsewhere and require it to be delivered, then contact me with an inquiry and I will get a quote for courier transport before the transaction takes place. Payment will be by paypal only if it needs to be posted, but I will also take cash or bank cheque if it is to be picked up.

If you have any interest please contact me and I will answer your inquiries as best I can.</description>
