This cello was hand made 3 years ago by master violin maker John Wu. It is in perfect condition and has a very attractive antique-style varnish. It has been professionally set up and has a huge, full sound. The cello comes with a hard fibreglass case.

Made by David Rattray 2006 after Gasparo da Salo. 16 1/4 inches David Rattray has held the position of Custodian at the Royal Academy of Music, London since 1988. The back is made from 2 pieces of narrow figured maple with matching ribs & head. The table is of medium grain spruce. Excellent condition; played on by professional violist.

LEFT HANDED Bogey 3/4 size double bass - 42" strings. Most likely made in 2001 (possibly 2002) Converted to left hand by Ben Puglisi. Great sounding bass! Excellent condition. Purchased for Jazz course at the VCA. Mainly playing electric bass these days - so no point in it sitting around gathering dust. Anyone welcome to tee up appointment to come and try it out. The cases utilise an innovative construction technology that produces a durable case that is not only extremely light weight and attractive but also well-designed and functional. In very good condition. Full size violin, comes with 2 bows, case and shoulder rest. One of the bows is very good quality for a school violin. The outfit was purchased new and used in senior school orchestra.

The instrument is designed to offer a full rich viola sound, while providing good player comfort. The shape of the upper bouts allows easy access to higher positions. German bow by the Weichold firm, stamped "R. Weichold Dresden". Octagonal pernambuco stick with silver mounted ebony frog which is decorated with pearl eyes; the three piece adjuster of silver / ebony / silver caped with a pearl eye. Condition The near side decorative pearl eye from the frog is missing and there is a slight bend in the stick. The bow is, nevertheless, in excellent condition .

The model I used for this cello is G.B. Rogeri. However I did not adhere strictly to this model for carving the scroll or F holes. I obtained the maple for the back and sides from Canada. It is called Quilted Maple and the figure is dramatic.The top is carved from Sitka Spruce. This cello was finished in 2010 here in Adelaide.It sounds awesome.
